Iran’s exports to Armenia reach $560 million

YEREVAN, August 29. /ARKA/. Iran's exports to Armenia this year have increased by 37% to $560 million compared to the same period last year, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Zohouri said this on Saturday, IRNA reported.
He described Armenia as a safe and reliable communication bridge for establishing trade relations with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and EU member countries at a meeting with a trade delegation from Zanjan province.
According to him, Armenia's preferential tariff for the export of 6,000-7000 items of goods to EEU countries allows Iranian businesspersons to be present in such markets.
Zohouri noted that several important projects are on the agenda of Iran-Armenia interstate commission.
"The volume of Iran's exports to Armenia has now reached $560 million and we plan to increase this to $1 billion," the ambassador added.
According to Armenia's National Statistical Service, the trade turnover between Armenia and Iran in the first 5 months of 2022 was about $246 million, up 33.7% compared to the same period of 2021. -0-
