Armenian jewelry industry’s output amounted to AMD 6 668.3 million in Jan-Aug 2014 showing a 43.5% year-on-year decline, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.

YEREVAN, October 1. /ARKA/. Armenian jewelry industry’s output amounted to AMD 6 668.3 million in Jan-Aug 2014 showing a 43.5% year-on-year decline, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.

Some 717.5 kilograms of jewelry were produced in Jan-Aug 2014 against 758.7 kilograms in Jan-July 2013 – a 5.4% decline.

Some 39,607 carats were produced in Armenia in Jan-Aug 2014 – a 32.8% year-on-year decline.

Exports of precious and semiprecious stones and jewelry made of them totaled about $150.1 million in Jan-Aug 2014 showing a 24.7% year-on-year growth, and imports totaled $204.8 million – a 12.3% year-on-year growth. ($1- AMD 407.6). --0-----
