Leaders of Armenia and Kazakhstan emphasize importance of TRIPP and Crossroads of Peace projects
YEREVAN, November 21. /ARКА/. During talks in Astana on Friday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of implementing the TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) and Crossroads of Peace projects, the Armenian government press service reported.
Pashinyan stated that changes occurring in the region are opening up new opportunities for further deepening economic ties, and new transportation options are emerging that need to be carefully studied. He added that members of the intergovernmental commission between the two countries are receiving a new agenda, work on which has already begun.
In turn, Tokayev emphasized the Armenian prime minister's personal efforts to establish peace and stability in the region, adding that his country consistently supports the normalization of relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan.
The two leaders discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of trade, economic, and business ties, as well as cooperation in infrastructure, transport, agriculture, aviation, education, and culture. The two leaders emphasized the importance of unblocking regional transport routes, which will give new impetus to the development and expansion of regional relations.
Pashinyan and Tokayev also emphasized the importance of importing wheat from Kazakhstan to Armenia by rail and expressed hope that this process would be sustainable.
The two leaders also exchanged views on the further development of cooperation in areas such as the launch of direct flights between Yerevan and Astana, digitalization, student exchange programs, and other areas.
The Prime Minister invited the President of Kazakhstan to pay a state visit to Armenia, and Tokayev accepted.-0-
