Manufacturing production in Armenia declines by 13.2% during first eight months, totaling 1.2 trillion drams
						YEREVAN, October 7. /ARKA/. The manufacturing output from January to August 2025 reached 1,190,906.1 million drams, reflecting a 13.2% decrease compared to the same period in 2024, as reported by the Statistical Committee of Armenia.
Furthermore, the industrial output for August was 164,258.5 million drams, indicating a 7.3% increase relative to August 2024, and a 14.3% rise compared to July 2025.
Food production constituted the largest portion of the industry's overall structure in the first eight months of this year, representing 31.8%. This segment experienced a 3.8% increase compared to the first eight months of the previous year, generating goods valued at 378,170.8 million drams.
The leading five sectors by share also included tobacco production, which accounted for 16%, with a growth of 54.9% and a volume of 190,248.2 million drams; production of basic metals, which had a share of 11.7%, a decline of 63.9%, and a volume of 139,774.8 million drams; beverage production, with a share of 10.5%, a decline of 14.2%, and a volume of 124,814.6 million drams; and production of other non-metallic mineral products, which had a share of 8.7%, a decline of 14.7%, and a volume of 103,104.7 million drams.
The share of rubber and plastic products stood at 2.8% (with a growth of 10.6%, volume - 33,025.5 million drams), printing activities and replication of recorded information media accounted for 2.7% (with a growth of 11.6%, volume - 32,762.8 million drams), clothing production represented 2.2% (with a decline of 2.7%, volume - 26,141.5 million drams), production of paper and paper products was at 1.8% (with a decline of 2.7%, volume - 21,449.5 million drams), and production of chemical industry products accounted for 1.7% (with a growth of 61.7%, volume - 19,908.5 million drams).
The proportion of electrical equipment production stands at 1.6% (with a growth of 0.2%, totaling 19,609.4 million drams).
The production of finished metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, is at 1.5% (growth of 9.8%, amounting to 18,374.6 million drams). The production of machinery and equipment not classified in other categories is at 1.1% (with a growth of 86.1%, reaching 13,440.8 million drams). The repair and installation of machinery and equipment account for 1% (with a growth of 34.4%, totaling 11,780.3 million drams). Furniture production is at 0.9% (showing a decline of 1.9%, with a volume of 11,201.8 million drams).
Computers, electronics, and optical products each represent 0.7% (increasing by 61.4%, to AMD 8,893.5 million), as does the production of basic pharmaceuticals and drugs (which increased by 9.6%, to AMD 8,418.5 million).
Textile production constitutes 0.3% (with an increase of 14.6%, to AMD 3,796.5 million).
Leather goods (decreasing by 23.9%, to AMD 1,980.5 million), coke and refined petroleum products (increasing threefold, to AMD 1,928.2 million), and wood processing (increasing by 8%, to AMD 1,891.5 million) each account for 0.2%. The share of production of items not classified in other categories is 1.7%.
The total volume of industrial production in Armenia from January to August 2025 reached 1,770,561.4 million drams (at current prices), reflecting a decrease of 7.8% compared to the same period in 2024. (Exchange rate: $1 - 382.58 drams). -0-
