Manufacturing production in Armenia decreased by 10.2% in the first nine months, amounting to 1.4 trillion drams

YEREVAN, November 10. /ARKA/. The manufacturing output from January to September 2025 reached 1,396,728.6 million drams, reflecting a 10.2% decline compared to the same period in 2024. This information is supported by data released by the Statistical Committee of Armenia. 

In September, the industrial production totaled 205,822.6 million drams, marking a 12.1% increase from September 2024, and a 9.6% rise compared to August 2025. 

Food production represented the largest portion of the industry's overall structure during the first three quarters of the current year, constituting 32.3%. This segment experienced a 6.2% growth compared to the first eight months of the previous year, generating goods valued at 451,403.2 million drams. 

The top five sectors by share also included tobacco production, which accounted for 15.5%, reflecting a 51.8% increase, with a volume of 216,673.2 million drams; production of basic metals, which held a 12.7% share, saw a 58% decline, with a volume of 176,608.0 million drams; beverage production, with a 10.3% share, experienced a 13.8% decrease, totaling 143,921.6 million drams; and production of other non-metallic mineral products, which comprised 8.5% of the total, faced a 13% decline, amounting to 119,074.2 million drams. 

The share of rubber and plastic production stood at 2.7% (with a growth of 10.3%, volume - 38,024.7 million drams), while printing activities and replication of recorded information media accounted for 2.6% (with a growth of 10.8%, volume - 36,691.4 million drams). Clothing production represented 2.2% (with a decline of 1.5%, volume - 30,124.5 million drams), and production of paper and paper products accounted for 1.8% (with a decline of 1.5%, volume - 30,124.5 million drams). The production of chemical industry products constituted 1.6% (with a growth of 61.5%, volume - 22,720.8 million drams). 

Electrical equipment production made up 1.5% of the total (down 4%, with a volume of AMD 21,566.7 million), and finished metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, also accounted for 1.5% (up 6.3%, with a volume of AMD 20,829.9 million). 

Machinery and equipment not classified in other categories represented 1.1% (up 77.5%, with a volume of AMD 15,451.8 million). 

The production of furniture has increased by 4.4%, reaching a volume of AMD 13,066.0 million, while the repair and installation of machinery and equipment has risen by 18.8%, with a volume of AMD 12,878.0 million, both contributing 0.9% to the total. In contrast, the production of computer, electronic, and optical products accounted for 0.7%, showing a significant increase of 46.4% with a volume of AMD 9,964.0 million. Additionally, the production of basic pharmaceutical products and preparations has risen by 7.5%, reaching AMD 9,555.6 million. 

Textile production holds a share of 0.3%, having increased by 14.7% to reach AMD 4,296.1 million. 

Coke and refined petroleum products each represent 0.2% of the total, with a remarkable increase of 3.5 times, amounting to AMD 2,245.5 million. Conversely, leather goods have decreased by 22.3%, now valued at AMD 2,238.1 million, while wood processing has seen a rise of 5.1%, reaching AMD 2,116.3 million. 

The share of production for products not categorized in other groups stands at 1.6%. 

For the first nine months of 2025, the total volume of industrial output in Armenia was AMD 2,055,912.9 million (at current prices), reflecting a decline of 5.7% compared to the same period in 2024. (Exchange rate: $1 = 382.54 drams).-0-
