Manufacturing production in Armenia in the first month of 2025 decreased by 16.2%, to 115.8 billion drams

The volume of production in the manufacturing industry in January 2025 amounted to 115,793.5 million drams, showing a decrease of 16.2% compared to January 2024 and a decline of 54.2% compared to December 2024.

YEREVAN, March 7. /ARKA/. The volume of production in the manufacturing industry in January 2025 amounted to 115,793.5 million drams, showing a decrease of 16.2% compared to January 2024 and a decline of 54.2% compared to December 2024. This is according to data published by the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.

The largest share in the overall structure of the industry for January was held by food production, at 29.4%. This segment saw an increase of 8.8% compared to January last year, with products worth 33,988.1 million drams.

The top five sectors by share also included the production of tobacco products, with a share of 18.1%, an increase of 94.4%, and a volume of 20,942.7 million drams; production of basic metals, with a share of 16.8%, a decline of 68.4%, and a volume of 19,460.7 million drams; production of beverages, with a share of 10.2%, a decline of 25.2%, and a volume of 11,751.9 million drams; and production of other non-metallic mineral products, with a share of 6.5%, a growth of 48.1%, and a volume of 7,542.7 million drams.

Other notable sectors include rubber and plastic product production (share: 2.6%, growth: 26.7%, volume: 3,052.5 million drams), printing and replication of recorded information carriers (share: 2.5%, growth: 13%, volume: 2,867.7 million drams), electrical equipment production (share: 2%, growth: 54.2%, volume: 2,297.9 million drams), clothing production (share: 0.9%, decline: 3.9%, volume: 2,234.8 million drams), paper and paper products (share: 1.8%, growth: 17.8%, volume: 2,030.9 million drams), and chemical product production (share: 1.4%, growth: 47%, volume: 1,648.9 million drams). Also included is the production of finished metal products (share: 1.3%, growth: 5.4%, volume: 1,548.0 million drams).

The production of basic pharmaceutical products and drugs, and furniture production each accounted for 0.8% of the total share. The production of pharmaceuticals grew by 4% to a volume of 971.1 million drams, while furniture production declined by 8.2%, reaching a volume of 885.4 million drams.

The share of computer, electronic, and optical product production (growth by 5.5 times, volume: 645.3 million drams) was 0.5%. The production of machinery and equipment not included in other categories accounted for 0.4% (decline by 0.9%, volume: 495.3 million drams), as did the repair and installation of machinery and equipment (growth by 7.6%, volume: 480.7 million drams).

Other sectors include textile production (growth by 42.4%, volume: 361.1 million drams) at 0.3%, leather goods production (decline by 18.2%, volume: 270.2 million drams) at 0.2%, and wood processing (growth by 17%, volume: 150.8 million drams) at 0.1%.

The share of products classified under "other groups" accounted for 1.9%.

The total volume of industrial production in Armenia in January 2025 amounted to 190,547.0 million drams (current prices), showing a decrease of 10.4% compared to January 2024 and a decrease of 41.3% compared to December 2024. ($1 = 394.58 drams)
