The gross median monthly wage in Armenia in March 2014 was 158,873 drams (USD $384 or 13,863 Russian rubles), by 1.1 % more than in February, according to the latest figures released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).

YEREVAN, May 13. / ARKA /. The gross median monthly wage in Armenia in March 2014 was 158,873 drams (USD $384or 13,863 Russian rubles), by 1.1 % more than in February, according to the latest figures released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).
In February 2014 the median nominal wage was 157,214 drams, which was 0.8 % more than in January 2014 and 6.4% more than in February 2013.
The highest median monthly nominal wage in February 2014 was in the southern region of Syunik - more than 185,300 drams, while the lowest was in Aragatsotn region - about 111,200 drams. In the capital city Yerevan it was 171,900 drams in February.
In February, the highest salaries were boasted by financial and insurance sectors - more than 363,800 drams, information and communication sector- about 321,900 drams and the mining industry - more than 302,400 drams.
The lowest paid sectors were culture, entertainment and leisure – 86,900 drams, agriculture, forestry and fisheries -92,400 drams and catering – 99, 300 drams ($ 1 - 413.21 drams). -0-
