Net foreign investment in the real sector of the Armenian economy in 2015 FELL to about 123.6 billion drams from 167.4 billion drams in 2014, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).

YEREVAN, April 1,. /ARKA. Net foreign investment in the real sector of the Armenian economy in 2015 FELL to about 123.6 billion drams from 167.4 billion drams in 2014, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).
The inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Armenian economy in 2015 fell to about 70.4 billion drams from 117.2 billion drams in 2014.
According to the National Statistical Service, the leader in terms of total foreign investment in 2015 in Armenia's real economy sector was Switzerland with about 43 billion drams, while its direct investment were worth 41 billion drams. The top three investors included also Russia and Luxembourg.
Russian investments amounted to about 31.9 billion drams, while Russian FDI to 35.9 billion drams. Luxembourg invested last year in Armenia about 28.4 billion drams, while its FDI were valued 28.7 billion drams.
In addition, substantial investment came from Germany and the United States - 26.8 billion and 11.38 billion drams respectively.
The largest share of foreign investments was channeled into the mining industry - 56.4 billion drams, production of electricity, gas, steam and conditioned air - 51 billion drams and air transport - 34.5 billion drams. ($ 1 - 480.79 drams). -0-
