YEREVAN, September 22. /ARKA/. Armenia’s newly appointed minister of transport and communication Vahan Martirosyan told journalists on Thursday that he has no plans to make personnel changes in the ministry.
"If employees work normally and meet the basic requirements, they will remain in their jobs,' Martirosyan said.
Regarding his own activities, the minister noted that he took up his duties just a few hours ago and therefore can not provide any conceptual solutions.
He said he would try to clarify and find out all the details of such major projects as the construction of the North-South transport corridor, licensing of taxi companies and the format of the ministry.
"I am familiar with the area, but I need time to study it in more detail. There is a provisional program of work and it will be soon presented to the prime minister." Martirosyan said.
Asked about the status of a project designed to build a railway between Iran and Armenia, the minister said the question needs to be studied in detail.
Speaking about his connections with Russian Rostelecom Martirosyan noted that he was one of the founders of GNC-Alfa, which was sold later to Rostelecom. Martirosyan said he is a member of its Board of Directors." -0-
