Nonfoods in Armenia down 0.6% in January

Prices for nonfoods in Armenia went 0.6% down in January 2016, compared with December 2015, the National Statistical Service reports.
YEREVAN, February 8. /ARKA/. Prices for nonfoods in Armenia went 0.6% down in January 2016, compared with December 2015, the National Statistical Service reports.
The decrease was mainly due to a 3.5% fall in process for clothes, 2.7% decrease in prices for shoes, 1.5% for golden jewelry prices, 1% personal goods and 0.6% household devises.
Detergents and furniture went down as well – by 0.4% and 0.1% respectively.
Instead, building materials and office appliances became more expensive – 0.1% each group.
Prices for carpets rose 0.5%, kitchen appliances 0.7%, textile 0.9%, cosmetics 2.2% and cultural goods 2.4%.
Prices for fuel and gardening appliances remained unchanged in January.
According to the statistical report, consumer prices in Armenia rose 2.2% in January 2016, compared with December 2015.
In the government budget for 2016, inflation is projected at 4% (±1.5%). --0----
