YEREVAN, March 26. /ARKA/. Only two Georgian wine producers and two mineral water enterprises out of 40 companies allowed for registration,  submitted their documents and production samples to Russian consumer agency Rospotrebnadzor to be registered in Russia, Russia’s RIA Novosti agecy reported Tuesday.

The inspection first round was carried out from 25 February to 1 March. Its results authorized 36 alcohol and four mineral water producers to register their production in Russia. Earlier, Head of Rospotrebnadzor Gennadiy Onishchenko said the Georgian side had faced some issues related to obtaining  entry visas to Russia. Afterwards, Rospotrebnadzor applied to Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist the Georgian side with  getting visas to register their production in Russia.

Russia banned importing Georgian wines and mineral water in spring of 2006. According to the  Russian side, such decision was touched off by the low-quality production.  -0-
