YEREVAN, September 15. /ARKA/. Arkady Khachatryan, an opposition MP from the Bright Armenia party's faction, was elected today chairman of the parliamentary committee on financial-credit and budgetary issues.
Khachatryan will replace ex-MP Mane Tandilyan, who resigned last month citing health problems.
Speaking to his fellow lawmakers, Khachatryan described the financial system as very sensitive saying it should be approached in a balanced way.
In particular, regarding the banks' decision to grant borrowers so-called' credit holidays', he said the problems faced by the population during the coronavirus crisis and the total lockdown cannot be solved only at the expense of business, and a combined approach involving businesses and the government is needed.-0-
