Pashinyan emphasizes necessity for new phase in exploration of mineral reserves in Armenia

YEREVAN, October 3. /ARКА/. During the Mining Armenia Forum, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the necessity for a new phase in the exploration and identification of mineral reserves within the nation.
Acknowledging the advancements in subsoil exploration technologies, he stated that this matter requires discussion with international partners.
"It is essential for us to investigate the subsoil of our republic. The understanding we possess regarding the subsoil is derived from data gathered since the Soviet period," he remarked, underscoring that significant efforts were made during that time, which should not be overlooked.
As reported by Armstat, in the first seven months of 2025, copper concentrate production in Armenia saw a decline of 8%, totaling 159,125.3 tons, while zinc concentrate production rose by 6.9% to 6,667.0 tons. Molybdenum concentrate production fell by 14.9% to 8,309.1 tons, and ferromolybdenum production decreased by 35.1% to 1,725.8 tons.-0-
