YEREVAN, August 22. /ARКА/. Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, together with leaders from over 20 nations, is set to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, China.

The summit will see the participation of heads of state and government from more than 20 countries and 10 international organizations, as reported by TASS, citing Liu Bin, Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.

"Chinese President Xi Jinping will engage with the leaders of over 20 foreign nations and 10 international organizations to review the successful experiences of the SCO, foster its development and restructuring, and unite its members for collaboration and joint efforts," the diplomat remarked.

He further clarified that the summit will include Russian President Vladimir Putin, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and others.

The heads of international organizations and multilateral mechanisms, including UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, have also been invited to the summit.

Armenia holds observer status in the SCO. In July of this year, Pashinyan expressed Armenia's interest in becoming a member of the SCO, which he believes aligns with the country's balanced policy approach.-0-
