Poste Italiane to help Haypost introduce financial services

Specialists at Poste Italiane, Italia’s postal operator, have embarked on a project of introduction of financial services in post offices all over Armenia’s territory under a cooperation agreement signed by Poste Italiane and Haypost (Armpost) on March 30, 2012, Juan Pablo Gechijian, CEO of Haypost Trust Management B.V. (trust manager of Haypost), said on Friday.

YEREVAN, May 11. /ARKA/. Specialists at Poste Italiane, Italia’s postal operator, have embarked on a project of introduction of financial services in post offices all over Armenia’s territory under a cooperation agreement signed by Poste Italiane and Haypost (Armpost) on March 30, 2012, Juan Pablo Gechijian, CEO of Haypost Trust Management B.V. (trust manager of Haypost), said on Friday.
Italian specialists will study the market within two months and after that they will draw a business plan of implementation of the project, which will be ready in September, and direct work on the project implementation will be launched in October and will last 18 months.
Gechijian said that Haypost has spent $1.5 million for purchasing appropriate software.
“Our goal is to make financial services available to all the citizens of Armenia, especially those living in remote areas,” he said.
The Hypost CEO stressed the importance of Italian operator’s experience in this area.
He said every resident of Armenia would enjoy money transfer and Internet services. Everybody will be able to carry out transactions on debit and credit cards and enjoy insurance services.
Alberto Gutarone, the project manager, on his side, said that Poste Italiane commits to successful implementation of the project in Armenia and adaptation of the Italian business model, which will ensure income to Haypost.
HayPost CJSC is Armenia’s national postal operator has 900 offices in the country.
The agreement signed on November 30, 2006 on handover of HayPost to Dutch HayPost Trust Management B.V. for a five-year trust management with a right of prolongation for other five years was prolonged for six months on December 5. -0--
