Premier: Armenian farmers can get preferential agricultural loans at 7.5 billion drams since April 1

YEREVAN, March 29. /ARKA/. Armenian farmers can get preferential agricultural loans in the total amount of 7.5 billion drams since April 2012, said Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan on Thursday. 

By the government decree, fr om April 1, 2011 Armenian farmers can get preferential agricultural loans at the rate of 14% annually, of which 4% will be subsidized by the government. The amount of the subsidies was 200 million drams. Loans are provided in AMD, and average size of the loan will be 625 thousand drams.

During the government meeting in Kotayk region Sargsyan said that last year within the state subsidization program the government allocated 14 billion drams. 

“This year we allocate from the state budget 7.5 billion drams for crediting the farmers. In its result, loans by low interest rates will be provided.”, he said.

Sargsyan said that upon the re quest of the governors, the government adopted decision to publish the list of farmers who have received loans by preferential rates.

“Information about the people receiving loans will be published, and the society and our partners can be informed wh ere our budget funds go”, said Sargsyan.

He also said that about 90% of applications for receiving preferential loans in Kotayk region were satisfied. “IT is a rather serious indicator which shows that the banks satisfy the majority of the applications of the farms. The banks refuse the applications in case, when the application contains high risks”, he said. ($1 – 390.3 drams).—0--
