YEREVAN, June 6. /ARKA/. During a working visit today to Tavush province Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan promised all possible support to border regions of the country saying also the authorities were ready to work on the ground.

He stressed that the government will assist with all possible means, "to secure  a strong rear for all communities firmly staying on the ground.'

"We have completed all election-related processes  having won the mandate of people's trust. Now,  the government, other state  and  local self-government bodies have taken up the resolution of challenges  facing us, "Sargsyan said.

Sargsyan said  one of the main tasks is solving problems in the border areas, since they are exacerbated by regular violations of the ceasefire regime, which on one hand raise tension, and on the other, cause additional damage.

The president stressed that the government is fully prepared for practical work on the ground, and local government bodies should be more active and more realistic.

As part of the visit  Sargsyan met with members of an  inter-agency  commission set up to coordinate the resolution of border communities' problem.
