President promises support to border communities

During a working visit today to Tavush province Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan promised all possible support to border regions of the country saying also the authorities were ready to work on the ground.
YEREVAN, June 6. /ARKA/. During a working visit today to Tavush province Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan promised all possible support to border regions of the country saying also the authorities were ready to work on the ground.
He stressed that the government will assist with all possible means, "to secure a strong rear for all communities firmly staying on the ground.'
"We have completed all election-related processes having won the mandate of people's trust. Now, the government, other state and local self-government bodies have taken up the resolution of challenges facing us, "Sargsyan said.
Sargsyan said one of the main tasks is solving problems in the border areas, since they are exacerbated by regular violations of the ceasefire regime, which on one hand raise tension, and on the other, cause additional damage.
The president stressed that the government is fully prepared for practical work on the ground, and local government bodies should be more active and more realistic.
As part of the visit Sargsyan met with members of an inter-agency commission set up to coordinate the resolution of border communities' problem.
The head of state also visited a military unit in Koghb community to talk with servicemen and hand out incentive gifts to distinguished servicemen. -0-
