Production of manufacturing industry in Armenia decreased by 21.5% in 5 months, amounting to 685.5 billion drams

The volume of production in the manufacturing industry in January-May 2025 amounted to 685,547.3 million drams, a decrease of 21.5% compared to January-May 2024.

YEREVAN, July 8. /ARKA/. The volume of production in the manufacturing industry in January-May 2025 amounted to 685,547.3 million drams, a decrease of 21.5% compared to January-May 2024. This is evidenced by the data published by the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.
At the same time, the volume of industrial output in May amounted to 150,141.5 million drams, a decline of 13.5% compared to May 2024, and an increase of 3.2% was recorded compared to April 2025.
The largest share in the overall structure of the industry for the first five months of this year falls on the share of food production - 31.4%. This segment showed a 4.8% increase compared to January-May last year, with production worth 215,396.2 million drams. The top five by share also include tobacco production: share - 17.5%, growth by 75.1%, volume - 119,719.5 million drams; production of basic metals: share - 11.2%, decline - 76.3%, volume - 77,099.7 million drams; beverage production: share - 10.7%, decline - 13.2%, volume - 73,683.1 million drams; production of other non-metallic mineral products: share - 8.1%, decline - 11.8%, volume 55,405.7 million drams. The share of rubber and plastic products production (growth by 9.1%, volume - 18,596.0 million drams) and printing activities, replication of recorded information carriers (growth by 7.8%, volume - 18,359.6 million drams) accounted for 2.7%.
The share of clothing production is 2.2% (decline - 1.4%, volume - 14,871.4 million drams).
The share of electrical equipment production is 1.8% (growth - 8%, volume - 12,380.9 million drams) and the production of paper and paper products is 1.8% (decline by 6.8%, volume - 12,093.6 million drams).
The share of production of chemical industry products accounts for 1.6% (growth by 51.4%, volume - 10,675.8 million drams), production of finished metal products, except for machinery and equipment - 1.5% (growth by 6.4%, volume - 10,466.1 million drams), production of machinery and equipment not included in other groups - 1.4% (growth by 2.4 times, volume - 9,482.6 million drams), furniture production - 0.9% (decline by 9.9%, volume - 6,216.6 million drams).
The share of repair and installation of machinery and equipment (growth by 58.1%, volume - 5,565.0 million drams), as well as the production of basic pharmaceutical products and drugs (growth by 6.6%, volume - 5,423.1 million drams) accounts for 0.8% each. The share of computer, electronic and optical products production is 0.5% (growth by 68.9%, volume - 3,620.9 million drams), textile production - 0.3% (growth by 6.6%, volume - 2,126.7 million drams).
The share of leather products production is 0.2% each - 0.2% (a decline of 23%, volume - 1,266.1 million drams) and coke and oil products (growth by 82.9%, volume - 1,095.8 million drams).
The share of wood processing is 0.1% (growth by 5.7%, volume - 1,069.9 million drams).
The share of production of types of products not included in other groups is 1.6%.
