YEREVAN, December 27, /ARKA/. Welcoming Armenia’s acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the Kremlin today, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the growing trade turnover between the countries saying that this dynamic as well as the interaction of the two sides in other areas should be maintained.

“There is no need to characterize our relations: they are truly allied, filled with quite a lot of content,” the Russian leader said. He, in particular, recalled that Russia is Armenia’s number one foreign trade partner, recalling that it almost surged by 30 percent in 2017.

According to Putin, the bilateral trade saw another 17.5% growth in the first 10 months of 2018. “The dynamic is  good, and we need to preserve it,” Putin said.

He said also Moscow is ready to do everything that depends on it to maintain this level of relations with Yerevan, not only in the economic area, but also in other areas, including  security. “In general, we have a very rich, rich agenda,” Putin said.

Putin said it was Pashinyan's first visit to Russia after the convincing victory of his bloc in the December 9 snap parliamentary elections.

“I want to wish you success, good luck in the implementation of all the plans that you and your government have set for the benefit of Armenia and the Armenian people,” Putin said. -0-
