YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. Today, the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia (PSRC) approved Contour Global Hydro Cascade's investment program for 2025-2027, valued at 4,675.5 million drams (excluding VAT).

In 2016, Contour Global Hydro Cascade acquired the Vorotan HPP cascade in southern Armenia for $180 million, the largest deal in history between the United States and Armenia.

According to the company's investment program, 547.6 million drams will be allocated to collect data on dams and hydraulic structures and to develop design documentation for their restoration and stabilization.

Additionally, 29.4 million drams will be allocated for reconstructing the daily regulation pool (DRP) of the Tatev HPP.

Another 481.3 million drams will be allocated for environmental protection, as well as improving labor and safety standards.

One billion, eight hundred million drams will fund the replacement of power transformers at the Tatev HPP. Additionally, 870.1 million drams will be allocated for the automation of four reservoirs' mechanisms, the main and auxiliary valves of the DRP, and their remote control, as well as for the introduction of a differential protection system.

Finally, 896.2 million drams will be invested in other areas to organize the operation of the HPP.

The Vorotan Hydroelectric Power Plant Complex consists of three HPPs: Tatev, Shamb, and Spandaryan. They are located on the Vorotan River. The total installed capacity is 404.2 MW. The cascade is of systemic importance to the country's energy sector, providing about 15% of Armenia's generating capacity. The cost of 1 kWh of electricity generated at the cascade power plants is the lowest in Armenia.-0-
