YEREVAN, July 30. /ARKA/. The Russian market is of great importance for Armenia; the Armenian regulator guarantees compliance with the EAEU requirements for the export of goods. This was stated by the new head of the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia Tigran Petrosyan at a meeting with the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert in Moscow.
As reported on the Rosselkhoznadzor website, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between the competent agencies of the two countries, including those related to compliance with phytosanitary requirements for the supply of flower products from Armenia to Russia.Dankvert and Petrosyan noted the high level and fruitful nature of the interaction of the Services both in resolving issues of bilateral trade development and in work on the EEC platform, as well as an increase in the supply of plant products from Armenia to Russia.
According to Argus-Fito, as of July 23, 2025, 103.4 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable products were imported from Armenia to Russia, which is almost 50% more than in the same period last year (69.6 thousand tons).
This year, there has been an increase in the import of cut flowers from Armenia. Thus, since the beginning of 2025, more than 71.1 million pieces have been delivered, which is 47% more than in the same period of 2024 - 48.5 million pieces. Over the entire last year, 84.4 million pieces of flower products were shipped.
The parties agreed on the need to comply with the phytosanitary requirements of the EAEU in mutual deliveries of products, and also discussed in more detail the procedure for admitting flowers to Russia. The heads of departments emphasized the importance of closing notifications when moving goods between EAEU member states.
Today, 14 Armenian producers, taking into account the guarantees of the Armenian competent authority, can supply flower products to the Russian market. The joint audit of greenhouses is ongoing. Rosselkhoznadzor will inspect some of the enterprises, and other producers will be inspected by the Armenian service independently, with subsequent provision of appropriate guarantees.
Dankvert noted the importance and necessity of joint work towards developing a single information space between states in modern conditions. Given the intensive trade in plant products, one of the key tasks facing the agencies is the integration of information systems in the field of phytosanitary, which will ensure traceability of the movement of goods.
Dankvert and Petrosyan expressed satisfaction with the high level of business and trade relations between Russia and Armenia and confirmed their intention to develop cooperation in a progressive manner.-0-
