YEREVAN, July 29./ARKA/.SCR urges citizens to follow safety rules on the railway especially after a freight train collided with cattle on the 2803 km of railway line Qarakert-Arteni on July 28, 2013 at 17: 25, the company reported Monday.

The Rolling stock of 22 cars weighing 1,738 tons drove onto 6 cows. The collision caused a breakdown of the train, the repair of which took an hour at Qarakert station.

“In connection with the recent incident on the track CJSC "South Caucasus Railway" once again reminds citizens to follow safety standards and do not use the way for grazing and transhumance. SCR encourages citizens to be more attentive at the railway stations, while transition the tracks,” according to the source.

The company requires to strictly follow safety standards and calls on citizens not to cross the railroad tracks not on the proper location.

For its part, SCR takes all necessary measures to ensure traffic safety: holds a program of repair of railway crossings, regularly carried out to identify shortcomings on crossings, conducts technical studies for the duties and spreads fliers among drivers about road safety.
