YEREVAN, March 13. /ARKA/. Solar power plants will account for 14% of Armenia's electricity production in 2025, announced RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan.

"Solar power plants with a total capacity of over 1,150 MW are currently connected to Armenia's energy system. This is approximately 150 MW more than the figure previously planned for 2030. Compared to 2024, this figure has increased by over 45%," Khudatyan stated in a video on his Facebook page.

According to Armstat, Armenia will generate 10,010.3 million kWh of electricity in 2025, an increase of 6.7% compared to 2024.

The largest share of electricity generated – 33.6% – came from thermal power plants, which generated 3,360.9 million kWh, a decline of 4.4%. The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) generated 2,914.9 million kWh, a 3% increase, and hydroelectric power plants (HPP) generated 2,106.4 million kWh, a 2.3% increase) accounted for 21%.
