Some 288,000 jobs created in Armenia since 2018 – Prime Minister
YEREVAN, April 13. /ARKA/. Since 2018, 288,000 jobs have been created in Armenia, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a working breakfast with representatives of the country's largest employers on Monday.
The Prime Minister noted that representatives of the companies that have created the largest number of jobs in Armenia have been invited to attend the meeting. He thanked them for their efforts.
"But it's clear that these jobs weren't created by us, but by you – thanks to the environment created by government policy. We included the creation of at least 25,000 jobs per year in our 2026 parliamentary election program, which is very important," the Prime Minister said, emphasizing the need to maintain this momentum.
Economic Growth and Modernization
Pashinyan stated that in recent years, the government has invested billions of drams in modernization and economic recovery. In particular, he mentioned the Economic Modernization Program, which has played a significant role in ensuring economic dynamism.
The Prime Minister recalled that from 2018 to the present, despite the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and the war (in Karabakh from September to November 2020), Armenia has achieved average economic growth of 7%.
Health Insurance
The Prime Minister also touched on the universal health insurance, wage levels, and opportunities to expand the system's user base through employers. According to Pashinyan, the health insurance system has been successfully launched, and employers play a key role in this.
Social Policy and Employment
Discussing the promotion of job creation, the Prime Minister outlined the government's social policy strategies, which state that individuals capable of working should secure their livelihood and welfare through employment.
"The processes will unfold based on the following framework: we will guide individuals towards employment. This means that the needs assessment system has a crucial requirement: at point X, we must present the individual with a job opportunity at a designated location and with a specified salary. If there is no response to the job offer after three attempts, we will assume that they have some form of income... However, it is essential to emphasize that amidst all this, the key factor remains education and the transformation of the educational system," Pashinyan remarked.-0-
