UN predicts Armenia's economic growth at 5.2% in 2025 and 4.7% in 2026

YEREVAN, January 11. /ARKA/. Armenia's GDP growth in 2025 will be 5.2%, with a slowdown to 4.7% in 2026. This is stated in the UN report "World Economic Situation Prospects 2025." At the same time, the authors of the report have revised their previous forecast for the country's economic growth in 2024, increasing it from 5.2% to 6%.

In general, in the CIS countries, including Georgia, GDP growth in 2025 is projected at 2.1% for oil-exporting countries and 4.6% for oil-importing countries (with the 2026 forecast being 2.1% and 4.5%, respectively). UN analysts expect the highest economic growth in Turkmenistan and Tajikistan—6% each—and the lowest in Russia—1.5%. The study also notes that inflation in Armenia will be 2.2% in 2025 and 2.3% in 2026.

Figures and forecasts for the Armenian economy

Armenia's economic growth is projected at 7% in the 2024 state budget and 5.1% in the 2025 budget. According to the Central Bank's report on monetary policy for the fourth quarter of this year, Armenia's GDP growth by the end of 2024 is expected to reach 6%, with the 2025 forecast ranging from 7.1% to 4.8%. The 2026 forecast is between 4.7% and 7%, and the 2027 forecast is between 5% and 6.2%.

The EDB forecasts Armenia's GDP growth at 6% in 2024 and 5.5% in 2025. The World Bank expects Armenia's economy to grow by 5.5% in 2024 and 5% in 2025. The IMF forecasts 6% growth in Armenia's economy in 2024 and 4.9% in 2025. The EBRD expects economic growth of 6.2% in 2024 and 4.8% in 2025. The ADB forecasts 5.7% growth in 2024 and 6% in 2025. According to Fitch Ratings, Armenia's economic growth will be 6% in 2024 and 4.9% in 2025. S&P forecasts 6.2% growth in Armenia's economy in 2024, while the UN predicts a 6% growth in 2024, 5.2% in 2025, and 4.7% in 2026.
