YEREVAN, May 18. /ARKA/. The chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia (UIEA) Arsen Ghazaryan received an invitation to participate in the International Industrial Exhibition to be held in Russian Yekaterinburg on July 6-9.

According to an UIEA press release, the invitation was handed over to Ghazaryan by the trade representative of the Russian Federation in Armenia Anna Donchenko.

Donchenko said the task of Russian trade representative offices abroad is to stimulate Russian exports and expand the range of imports. She said the trade representative office in Armenia conducted a study of the local market and identified its priorities. Donchenko highlighted such areas as energy, chemical industry, metallurgy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, information technology, which are of mutual interest in terms of investment.

Highly assessing the level of the current Armenian-Russian economic ties, Ghazaryan noted the importance of their deepening both in the bilateral format and within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.

He stressed the need to expand direct investments, create joint industrial and processing enterprises to enter the markets of Europe and Iran.

According to Ghazaryan, there is a wide field for cooperation in agriculture, mining, information technology, tourism and many other areas.

He stressed the need to expand direct economic cooperation between the regions of both countries, as well as private entrepreneurs. “Russia has been and remains one of our major economic partners,” he was quoted as saying. -0-
