Vache Gabrielyan appointed vice-premier, minister of global economic integration and reforms in Armenia

Chief advisor to Armenia’s premier, former minister-head of the government staff and ex-minister of finance Vache Gabrielyan is appointed as minister of global economic integration and reforms.
YEREVAN, December 1. /ARKA/. Chief advisor to Armenia’s premier, former minister-head of the government staff and ex-minister of finance Vache Gabrielyan is appointed as minister of global economic integration and reforms.
The respective decree was signed by president Serzh Sargsyan on Friday.
Gabrielyan was appointed as vice-premier under another presidential decree.
On November 17, Armenia’s parliament passed the law about government structure. According to the law, the ministry of territorial administration is merged with that of emergencies, and a new ministry of global economic integration and reforms is formed.
Vache Gabrielyan was born in Yerevan on November 24, 1968. Graduated from the Yerevan State University, department of economic cybernetics, with highest distinction in 1990. Has a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Rutgers University (USA).
Since 1998 Gabrielyan has delivered lectures at the economics department of the Yerevan State University and the American University of Armenia (AUA). Authored a number of scientific papers published in Armenia and abroad.
Gabrielyan was engaged, as an expert, in the parliament committee on finance and was advisor to the head of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA). He was member of CBA board in 1999-2008 and deputy head of CBA in 2008-2010.
Gabrielyan headed Armenia’s ministry of finance in 2010-2013 and was appointed as the head of the government staff in 2013. Since 2014 Gabrielyan has been chief advisor to Armenia’s premier. –0—
