The tender for the feasibility study for the construction of the new, 12th station of the Yerevan Metro, Surmalu, has been completed, and the contract is expected to be signed this week, announced Anetta Babayan, Advisor to the Mayor.

"The tender results for the feasibility study and consulting services have been announced. The contract is expected to be signed this week," Babayan noted at a working meeting at City Hall on Monday. She did not specify the name of the winning consortium or the amount of funding.
According to her, internal administrative procedures are currently underway; work can begin once funding is secured; 20 days are allocated for completion.
"A tender has also been announced for the development of the urban development concept and preliminary design, with the deadline for applications set for March 16. The contract is expected to be signed in April, after which work will begin. "The deadline for completion is 150 calendar days," Babayan said.
About the Surmalu Station
It was previously reported that the new, 12th Surmalu metro station is planned between the existing Sasuntsi David and Zoravar Andranik stations. The project aims to improve transport accessibility in the district, including the area adjacent to the Surmalu and Petak shopping centers, as well as Sevan Street.
The mayor previously stated that the station's construction work would be financed from the community budget in the amount of 400 million drams.
