Yerevan mayor to eliminate bus dispatch points

YEREVAN, December 16. /ARKA/. Old bus control points should be dismantled, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan said on Monday.

"Significant changes will need to be made to the operations of the “Yerevantrans company”. In particular, the old traditional dispatch points must be eliminated, as they no longer serve their purpose," Avinyan said during a working meeting at the city's municipality.

According to him, if municipal buses are equipped with a GPS system, it should be relied upon, and all data should be collected in a single center. “Accordingly, all information will be centralized in a specific center, from which control will be exercised,” the mayor added.

Another task that, according to the mayor, needs to be addressed next year is the creation of a Transport System Management Center.
