Yerevan and New Delhi to launch joint fight against smuggling
YEREVAN, August 24. /ARKA/. Under an agreement approved today by the government of Armenia, the later and the government of India will initiate cooperation in the customs area to fight against smuggling.
The agreement "On Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of India" was signed in Brussels on June 23.
Under the agreement, the parties will assist each other in administrative procedures, exchange of information on incoming cargoes, cooperate in customs control of goods.
This, according to the governments of the two countries, will help not only in the disclosure of smuggling cases, but also in the prompt resolution of emerging issues and problems.
This legislative initiative will be sent to the Armenian parliament for further consideration. -0-
