Coffee prices surge more than 25%
YEREVAN, November 29. /ARKA/. Coffee prices have jumped more than 25% in recent weeks, because of signs of shrinking production in Latin America, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Coffee futures have leapt to $1.173 a pond on the International Exchange, soaring from a recent low around 93 cents in October. It is known that inventories of coffee in warehouses have dropped by nearly 78,000 bags.
Experts think that that inventories of coffee in warehouses have shrunk because of bad coffee bean harvests in Honduras due to drought. Drought has been noticed also Brazil and Peru. -0----
