The death toll in a fireworks storage explosion in Armenia’s capital Yerevan on Sunday has risen to seven, officials said Monday.
YEREVAN, August 15, /ARKA/. The death toll in a fireworks storage explosion in Armenia’s capital Yerevan on Sunday has risen to seven, officials said Monday.
Another 21 people remain missing according to the updated list of people who are unaccounted for after the explosion. It includes five citizens of Iran and one citizen of Russia.
Most of at least 61 people who were injured were discharged form hospitals, according to the health ministry.
The explosion led to the collapse of part of the three-story building that housed fireworks unit. Officials have not yet provided information about what caused the fireworks to ignite, but the emergency minister ruled out a terror attack. -0-
