YEREVAN, October 5, /ARKA/. A strong 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck near Marand, in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan, the Armenian Ministry of Emergencies reported.

It said the tremor was recorded early morning on Wednesday, October 5th, 2022, at 4:21 am local time, at a moderately shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.

The quake was felt by many people in the area of the epicenter, including in southern Armenian provinces of Syunik and Vayots Dzor, in the capital Yerevan and also in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).-0-
