Russian soldier Valery Permyakov admitted guilt, but refused to take the stand in the court session that started on Wednesday in Giumry of Armenia.

YEREVAN, August 12. /ARKA/. Russian soldier Valery Permyakov admitted guilt, but refused to take the stand in the court session that started on Wednesday in Giumry of Armenia.
On January 12, Valery Permyakov stood guard, but he left his duty, went to the city, rushed into one house and shot dead six sleeping members of the family and wounded a baby, who died later in a hospital.
Permyakov was arrested on the same day when he attempted to cross the border and enter Turkey's territory. He was caught by Russian border guards who defend Armenia’s border. Permyakov confessed to the crime.
Permyakov asked the court to take as basis his testimony in the pre-trial, Novosti-Armenia reports.
The Russian garrison military court in Yerevan that is under the jurisdiction of the North Caucasus Military Court extended the pretrial detention term to the Russian servicemen who is charged with killing a family in Gyumri. He is also charged with deserting with a gun and several other gun-related offenses.
The murder charges will be brought up in the Armenian court. On July 18, the nine-volume murder case was transferred to Armenia’s Investigative Committee. –0--
