Some 676 emergencies reported in the first decade of 2016

Some 676 emergencies were reported to the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations in the first decade of 2016, by 250 more than in the same period last year, Hovhannes Khangeldyan, head of the National Center for Crisis Management of the ministry, said today.

Some 676 emergencies were reported to the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations in the first decade of 2016, by 250 more than in the same period last year, Hovhannes Khangeldyan, head of the National Center for Crisis Management of the ministry, said today.
Speaking to a news conference, he said three people died in this time span and another 56 were injured.
He said one man was killed by a fire, the other died in a car accident and the third man froze to death in the southeastern Syunik province that was hit particularly hard by the calamity.
According to Khangeldyan, 92 fires were reported, as many as in the first ten days of 2014, but the number of car accidents fell to 25 from 34 in 2014, when four people died and 36 were injured. -0-
