YEREVAN, April 10. /ARKA/. The Armenian government on Thursday made a decision on opening an embassy in Oman (residence - Muscat).
The justification of the decision notes the friendly relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Sultanate of Oman in recent years.
“There is a potential for cooperation in such areas as mutual trade, cargo transportation, air communication, information technologies, education, science, culture and tourism,” the document says.
It is also mentioned that the establishment of an embassy in Oman will also promote more active communication between the citizens and societies of the two countries, and will be an impetus for strengthening Armenia's ties with a number of East African countries washed by the waters of the Indian Ocean, based on the existing historical and cultural ties of these countries with Oman.
