Armenian revolutionary federation to form opposition front in Yerevan municipality

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnakstutiun (ARF-D) will be able to open a national opposition front after the May 31Yerevan City Council Elections, ARF-D mayoral candidate Artsvik Minasyan said.
YEREVAN, May 26. /ARKA/. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnakstutiun (ARF-D) will be able to open a national opposition front after the May 31Yerevan City Council Elections, ARF-D mayoral candidate Artsvik Minasyan said.
“We believe establishment of a national municipality in Yerevan is a priority issue for Armenia, as the capital city must balance and control the government’s centralized policy,” the mayoral candidate was quoted as saying on Tuesday.
Minasyan stressed that there is no such party that can oppose to the government decisions on Yerevan.
“This is the reason why the next mayor should be an oppositionist, he added.
Six political parties (the Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia, Orinats Yerkir, ARF-D, People’s Party, Socialist Labor Party of Armenia and the Armenian National Congress) have put up candidates for the Yerevan City Council elections. –0--
