YEREVAN, July 31. /ARKA/. On Friday, UN Resident Representative in Armenia Consuelo Vidal and Armenian National Statistical Service Chairman Stepan Mnatsakanyan, signed an agreement for surveying households in Armenia to see how much the global recession have impacted them.

Armenian Labor and Social Minister Gevorg Petrosyan, said after the signing ceremony that under the program, 4,248 Armenian households will be surveyed over the period between July 20 and August 20.

He said that the results would be unveiled in November 2009.

He also said that additional polls will be held once in every six months throughout 1.5 years.

The minister said that these studies would show the situation and prompt necessary steps to be taken to enhance productivity and efficiency of the government’s bailout measures and support for vulnerable social strata.

It is planned to create an effective system of national social monitoring as part of the program.

The system will enable the state agencies to analyze the current situation and conduct studies.

The program will make it possible to lessen the crisis-caused inequality of incomes. M.V.-0---
