Armenia Ready to Step up its Involvement in UN Agencies

Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian said July 6 that his government is ready to step up its involvement in UN agencies’ work to make it more effective.
YEREVAN, July 6, /ARKA/. Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian said July 6 that his government is ready to step up its involvement in UN agencies’ work to make it more effective.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Deputy Director of UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS Countries, Head of Bratislava Regional Center of UNDP Jans Wandel.
Armenian foreign minister expressed also satisfaction over the level of cooperation between Armenian government and UNDP as part of a plan of actions for 2010-2015 signed June 24 by Armenian government and UNDP.
The two men also spoke about interaction between the Armenian government and UNDP in reformation the governance system, climate change, effective use of electrical power and anti-corruption measures.
Mr. Wandel was quoted by the foreign ministry as saying that he appreciates highly Armenian government’s efforts to implement the plan of actions signed with UNDP. -0-
