Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian denied his Azerbaijani counterpart, Elmar Mammadyarov’s clams that both countries discussed the return of Lachin and Kerlbajarr regions to Azerbaijan.
YEREVAN, July 16. /ARKA/. Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian denied his Azerbaijani counterpart, Elmar Mammadyarov’s clams that both countries discussed the return of  Lachin and Kerlbajarr regions to Azerbaijan.

The two Armenian-controlled region are used  ‘corridors’ to connect Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh.

Elmar Mammadyarov on Thursday alleged that the withdrawal of Armenian forces from Kelbajar and Lachin would be discussed in a possible meeting with Armenia’s Eduard Nalbandian in Kazakhstan, claiming that this topic was also discussed during last month’s presidential summit in Russian St. Petersburg.

Nalbandian traveled to Almaty, Kazakhstan  to take part in an informal summit of OSCE member-state foreign ministers. He said at a press briefing Tuesday that a meeting with Mammadyarov might take place on the sidelines of the OSCE summit.

Nalbandian  described  Mammadyarov’s  statements as  “absolute lies.  ‘The Armenian side has never discussed the transfer of Lachin and Kelbajar to Azeri administrative control,” he said  stressing that the matter was  not discussed either during last month’s St. Petersburg meeting of presidents Serzh Sargsyan, Ilham Aliyev and Russia’s Dmitry Medvedev. -0-
