Medvedev calls Armenian-Russian relations exemplary

YEREVAN, August 20. / ARKA /. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev considers the Armenian-Russian relations to be an example.

"Armenian-Russian relations, both bilaterally and within the CSTO and the CIS, are really very strong, they can even be called exemplary, and on all fronts," the Russian leader said the day before in the course of dinner given in honour of the Russian president and his wife hosted by the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Mrs. Rita Sargsyan.

The Russian leader arrived in Armenia on a state visit on Thursday.

Medvedev described the Armenian-Russian dialogue having a mutual benefit, noting that it is being implemented through direct contacts between regions and individuals, which are particularly important and valuable.

According to the president of Russia, on the complex of historical stages of ages-old Armenian-Russian relations, the peoples have traditionally helped one another, and examples of this are many.

Medvedev also said that Armenia came one of the first to support Russia in the fight against forest fires and has had a great moral and human support.

"I want to personally thank the leadership of Armenia, all partners for the sincere desire to strengthen our relations and develop truly allied relations binding our two countries," said the president of Russia.

According to Medvedev, the state visit is a symbol of allied relations.

The official ceremony was attended by members of official delegations of two countries, representatives of public, business, and culture. --0--
