Armenian president participates in opening of MOE new building

YEREVAN, September 6./ ARKA /. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Saturday took part in the parade of fire-rescue services and the opening of the new renovated building of MOE in the republic.

The parade, dedicated to celebrating the Day of Emergency Situations of Ministry of Armenia, was attended by officials of the Central and all the regional fire and rescue units of MOE, the press office of President reported.

The day of the holiday for professional staff of MOE in Armenia is celebrated on September 4. On this day in 1997 in the republic was founded the rescue team of quick response.

Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia was formed by presidential decree on 21 April 2008.

In this occasion President Sargsyan awarded the rank of Major-General Commander to the director of the Armenian Rescue Service Sergei Azarian and Head of the rescue service Vachagan Nikoghosyan.

After the parade, he also familiarized himself with the staff of the Ministry and with the conditions for the fire and rescue training.

The opening ceremony of the renovated building of MOE, which formerly housed the National Service of Seismic Protection, was also attended by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, National Security Council Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan, head of the National Security Service Gorik Hakobyan, the diplomats of countries working with the MOE, in particular,　Switzerland, Brazil, Italy, USA, Russia, Ukraine, Japan, as well as the OSCE, UN, and NATO.-0--
