YEREVAN, December 27. /ARKA/. Ministers’ resignations can’t change things in Armenia, Ara Nranyan, MP from Armenian Revolutionary Federation, Dashnaktsutiun, said Monday at a news conference in Novosti International Press Center.

In his opinion, the government’s approaches to development of areas create troubles.

The lawmaker finds the government’s ideology wrong.

It would be better for the government, he said, to implement long-term and forward-looking projects instead of taking steps aimed at securing the political team’s interests.

Each minister should understand his objectives and programs as well as responsibilities.

Nranyan said that an absurd situation is in Armenia now –ministries support disadvantageous laws hobbling development of the areas under their competence.

He said that only one, justice minister, has really been dismissed, while other recent ministerial dismissals were no more than a mere reshuffle.

The legislator said that the newly appointed finance minister, Vache Gabrielyan, is quite competent person and skilled professional, but problems are created by mentality, not persons.

Ministers are good professionals, but political courage and independent thoughts are not encouraged in the current political system.

Ministers should come up with initiatives, develop projects and defend them, but unfortunately, nothing like that is seen now.

In recent days, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan embarked on substantial reshuffle.

In particular, Hrayr Tovmasyan, expert in constitutional law, was appointed as justice minister, Tigran Davtyan, headed the economy ministry succeeding Nerses Yeritsyan, and the Vache Gabrielyan left his deputy chairmanship in the central bank for the finance-ministerial seat. Later, Yeritsyan was appointed as deputy chairman of the central bank.

Gagik Beglaryan was dismissed as Yerevan mayor and replaced with Karen Karapetyan, director general of ArmRosgasprom.

On Monday, Orinats Yerkir, one of the ruling coalition member parties, recalled its agriculture minister, Gerasim Alaverdyan.—0—
