Armenian Defense Ministry plans to announce a competition for the best design of military uniforms and insignia with national symbols of the Armenian armed forces, the ministry’s press service told ARKA.
YEREVAN, January 18. / ARKA /. Armenian Defense Ministry plans to announce a competition for the best design of military uniforms and insignia with national symbols of the Armenian armed forces, the ministry’s press service told ARKA.
Proposals must be submitted for epaulettes, cap badges, troop types, including combined arms, armor, automotive, rocket artillery, air defense, air force, medical service, corps of engineers, special purpose, communications, and peacekeeping troops, as well as designs for sleeve insignia. Also options should be presented for ceremonial and everyday uniforms of cadets and military academy students, career officers, air force and other forces.
Bidders must also submit options for the grand and festive uniforms for the Honor Guard and the musical team. Proposed symbols should meet the requirements of military heraldry.
The winners will be rewarded from a prize fund. The prize for the best option for the design of epaulettes, military rank insignia, symbols of the troops, sleeve insignia and cap badges is 3 million drams (about $8,200) . The prize for the best proposal for design of military uniforms, as well as the best proposal for the uniform of honor guards and music team is 1 million drams (U.S. $ 2,7 thousand). The deadline for submission of proposals is Feb. 28, 2011.-0-
