Much importance is attached to the issue of the Armenian Genocide in the USA, Elmen Tsaroukian, a representative of the US students organization "Never again" stated in Yerevan.
YEREVAN, July 3. /ARKA/. Much importance is attached to the issue of the Armenian Genocide in the USA, Elmen Tsaroukian, a representative of the US students organization "Never again" stated in Yerevan.
He said that the issue is often discussed in US universities. Armenian and Turkish organizations are disseminating their ideas in almost all universities, Tsaroukian.
According to him, the organization is actively disseminating knowledge about the Armenian Genocide throughout the USA. Since more Armenians reside in California, pro-Armenian sentiments prevail there. Turkish organizations are more active closer to New York, and public sentiments are in their favor there. Tsaroukian stressed the importance of disseminating knowledge about the Armenian Genocide.
He pointed out that the “Never Again” organization delivers lectures on the Armenian Genocide on high and higher schools, disseminates literature, as well as transfers the funds raised to larger lobbyist organizations.
The “Never Again” organization was established in 2001 and is one of the two branches of the Armenian-American student organization “Alpha-Ypsylon-Omega”. The organization is dealing with the issues related to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
The second branch is the Armenian Organization for Educational Aid, which is implementing programs of assistance to Armenia’s educational establishments. The organization unites 160 students from seven universities of the USA. P.T. –0—
