YEREVAN, July 4. /ARKA/. Speaker of the Ra Parliament Tigran Torosyan congratulated Armenia’s citizens on Constitution Day marked on July 5.

“This day is one of the most important holidays in our country as it is the Fundamental Law that predetermines both the country’s development and the resolution of each citizen’s topical problems,” says Torosyan’s message.  

He pointed out that the most prestigious and professional organizations recognized the constitution reformed two years ago as being in harmony with international standards.

“The reformed constitution created opportunities of new quality for democratic development, protection of human rights, rule of law and worthy and prosperous life for our citizens,” says the message.
“Once again I congratulate you on Constitution Day, wish you success and proper application of constitutional norms for the consolidation of our country and well-being of our people,” he said.

Armenia’s Constitution was adopted as a result of a nation-wide referendum on July 5, 1995.
Constitutional amendments were adopted on November 27, 2005. P.T. –0--
