YEREVAN, March 23. /ARKA/. USA will continue its support to normalization process of Armenian-Turkish relations, said the Ambassador of USA in Armenia Marie Jovanovich on Wednesday to the journalists.

“This issue is on our agenda. Any time and by any means the border between these two countries should open for possible movement of population and implementation of activities”, she said.

USA continues its work in the direction of making possible ratification of protocols by implementing trans-national programs, in the frames of which students, journalists and other groups make mutual visits.

It makes possible meeting of individuals and not representatives of the nation or the State which can bring people together.

Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Turkey Edward Nalbandyan and Ahmed Davutoghlu signed “Protocol on establishment of diplomatic relations” and “Protocol on development of mutual relations» on October 10, Saturday, in Zurich. Then these documents should be approved by the parliaments of both countries. Armenian-Turkish border was closed since 1993 by the official initiative of Ankara. Complicated relations between two countries were due to the fact that Ankara supported Azerbaijan in Karabakh problem and also an acute reaction of Turkey on the process of international recognition of Armenian Genocide of 1915 in Ottoman Empire.--0—
