Armenian president describes china as reliable partner
YEREVAN, April 12. / ARKA /. Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan received today a Chinese government delegation led by Li Changchun, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and described China as Armenia’s reliable friend.
The Chinese delegation has arrived today in Armenia at the invitation of the Republican Party of Armenia, Sargsyan’s press office said. Welcoming the guests Sargsyan was said to emphasize reciprocal high-level visits.
"China has always been Armenia’s reliable friend and a partner and therefore deepening relationship with China is one of the most important foreign policy priorities of our country," said the president.
He appreciated highly the balanced policy of China in the region, stressing that the growth of China's involvement in the region will only contribute to peace and socio-economic development.
In turn, Changchun said the purpose of the visit is to promote political dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and the parties, as well as traditional Armenian-Chinese friendship.
"Armenia and China have a long history of relations having made great contributions to human civilization. Our peoples were linked by the Silk Road, and today we are happy to say that the Armenian-Chinese relations are developing on a solid foundation and have a great future ", said Changchun.
He stressed that Beijing considers Armenia as a reliable and important partner in the region. The two sides stressed the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural, educational, and several other sectors.
A large group of entrepreneurs have arrived in Armenia to participate in the Armenian-Chinese business forum that will seek to promote the strengthening of business contacts, discuss cooperation in various fields.
The parties also touched upon the development of inter-party relations. The representative of the ruling party of China noted that the CPC has been working closely with the Republican Party of Armenia for 12 years, which also contributes to the development of relations between the two countries. -0-
