Fule: Armenia and EU to sign declaration on promoting reforms

29.04.2011, 22:39
Armenia and EU will sign declaration which will indicate the main directions of reforms in the country, said EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule.
YEREVAN, April 29. /ARKA/. Armenia and EU will sign declaration which will indicate the main directions of reforms in the country, said EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule.

“Strengthening of EU-Armenia relations can promote reforms in Armenia, especially democracy, protection of human rights, economic, social and legislative areas. Guided by this logic, Armenian Foreign Minister and I will sign joint declaration”, said Fule in the press-conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan on Friday.

He said that EU provides substantial assistance to the country, particularly in strengthening infrastructures, for which 33 million euro is allocated. Micro-financing of EU includes grants and credits making 100 million euro.

EU will start negotiations on comprehensive free trade as soon as Armenia will be ready for it.—0-
