Iranian president’s visit to Armenia postponed

The visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Armenia that was scheduled to take place today, was postponed to another date, Armen Arzumanian, a spokesman for Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, said.
YEREVAN, June 6, /ARKA/. The visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Armenia that was scheduled to take place today, was postponed to another date, Armen Arzumanian, a spokesman for Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, said.
Ahmadinejad was to leave Tehran for Yerevan today in a bid to explore avenues for the further expansion of ties between the two neighboring states. Arzumanian said the visit was postponed at both sides’ mutual accord.
Ahmadinejad was last in Armenia in 2007. During that trip, the two sides signed four memoranda of understanding and issued a joint communiqué on the expansion of bilateral cooperation.-0-
